Date Released            :        2016

The album dazzles listeners with “Jazzman” as the first song in this album.  Naturally, listeners will really expect more good songs as the first song really excites listeners.  Fortunately, Beth Hart possesses a voice that is really suited to jazzy and bluesy tracks. You will not force yourself to listen to this singer as her smoky voice will really lure you to listen to the whole record.

You will discover that the whole album is cohesive and all songs blend together musically. All songs have her trademark passionate and intense vocals. Thus, when she sang about pain in “Fire On The Floor,’ you can feel it in your skin her heartache.  You feel your hair raising while listening to her quiet longing in “Woman You’ve Been Dreaming Of.” You can feel her anger and disappointment in “Baby You Can Shot Me Down.”

She was Motown and Diana Ross in this album. She can also sing like Carole King.  She can claim superiority over Lana del Rey.  And she can show to jazz singer pretenders how it should be done singing jazz songs.  This is one album that will hook you instantly and will even grow on you as you listen to it again and again.  I rate this record 4.5 stars out of 5 stars.
