This album can be considered as the lightiest album of Phish as it has several songs that are not so rock.  It is as if the band is just trying to relax and just play whatever comes on their mind.  While there are still songs that carry their trademark sound such as “Friends,” “Blaze On,” and “I Always Wanted It This Way.”

Thus, these songs carry different musical genres which the band is known with. But, then again, the band just want to relax thus some songs are light such as “No Men In No Man’s Land” which sounds like Little River Band’s “Man On Your Mind” with reggae vibe.

“Tide Turns” is like retro song and one might mistake it as a Cliff Richard song as it is like a mellow version of his 70’s hit “We Don’t Talk Anymore.”  If you think that this band is so serious with their craft, think again and listen to “Things People Do” and you can say that they can chill and just perform songs that fans might think that they are not capable with; loosening up.  Talking of “I Always Wanted It This Way,” this is probably the danciest tune that Phish produced over the years. The track is like New Wave meets disco.

The band gets more retro with “More.” With “Petrichor” as the concluding song, one can only ask for more.  This album will really make you crave for more Phish songs and with that I rate this record 4 stars out of 5 stars.
