DATE RELEASED:        2016

Listening to country music is an acquired taste.  Personally, one of my strongest objections about this type of music is that most of the songs sound similarl.  Thus, I rarely enjoy country music.  However, I would like to make an exception with this album.  This is probably one of the most likeable country music I heard in years.  The voice of Cole Swindell is very easy to your ears and many songs are not exactly country but can be considered as middle of the road.

Yes, the themes he sung in this album are not unique.  For example, advice to the young at heart songs have long been tackled like “Coward of The Country” by Kenny Rogers.  His take on this them in “Remember Boy” sounds like a sermon from a father to his son.  It is straightforward and guys will really remember moments like this during his growing up years.

A country album is not complete withtout the usual party songs.  Thus, you will find “Party Isn’t Over” where he sang about meeting a girl and trying to get a hold on her.  There is also a track called “Up” which is a mix of country and dance tune.  But, one thing you will notice about this album is that it has several songs about meeting a girl.  Aside from “Party Isn’t Over,” the same theme is evident in “Up,” “Hoppin, ” and “Making My Way To You.”
