Many music fans are quite apathetic when it comes to Yoko Ono, probably because of some mysteries revolving around her and John Lennon.  This could probably the reason why she did not achieve considerable success when it comes to her singing career considering that she is as avant garde as Bjork and way ahead of time too.  This is quite sad as there are several interesting Yoko Ono tracks which some of these managed to land on Billboard Dance charts on which she accumulated more than one chart topping dance single.

This is probably the force that this album became a reality. To push Yoko Ono into the mainstream by way of a dance or electronica album or remixed album.  In this record, Yoko raided her old catalogue and with the help of some EDM artists and remixers polished her older tracks to make it more current.  What you have in here are some realizations after listening to the whole album which is equivalent to a 2 CD set.

Listen to “Walking On Thin Ice” as remixed by Pet Shop Boys

First, you will realize that no matter how much polishing that you do, there are songs which are typically Ono and you cannot take away the art she put into some of these songs like “Hell In Paradise” and “I Have A Woman Inside My Soul.”]

Second, there are songs that became inferior or deteriorated when given the remixed treatment like the one she did with “Walking on Thin Ice;” the original version is iconic and should leave it like that.

Third, you can raid your back catalogue and manage to have some fun with it.  A lot of her songs were quite heavy in terms of lyrical content but with the right remixed you can ignore the message and just sway to the beat like “Wouldn’t It,”  “Mrs Lennon,” “Approximately Infinite Universe,” and “She Gets Down On Her Knees.”

This is a good starting point if music fans are not familiar with Yoko Ono to appreciate her art and music. This is also recommended to people who are still in doubt with her legendary status as a multi-media artist. I rate this record 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.
