Hot on the heels with the commercial and critical success of “The Innocent Man” which garnered several Grammy nominations and Billboard Hot 100 singles, 1986 indeed would be a challenge for Billy Joel on topping the success of his 1985 album.  Fortunately, the pressure was not too high on him as he delivered another outstanding album.  Although not as good as “The Innocent Man,” this album was just right as a follow up album.

Probably, the reason for this album worked at the time for Billy Joel because he produced an album where you can feel that he just wanted to be himself.  No pressure to recreate the success of his 1985 album. Instead what he offered in this album are songs where his fans can play on their music player over and over again.  What separates Billy Joel from his contemporary singers and performers is his ability to create songs that have lyrics that listeners can relate much and melodies which are pleasant to listen.

Thus, it is easy for one to listen to this album even if it was released thirty years ago.  Outstanding tracks in this album are “A Matter of Trust,” “Temptation,” “Modern Woman,” “ This Is The Time,” “Baby Grand”, and “Code of Silence.”  Indeed, this album ranks up there as one his best albums in his entire career.
