The latest solo effort of former lead vocalist of the ska band Gwen Stefani is definitely one of the most engaging albums released this year and will definitely ranked up there when top or best lists on 2016 albums are released at the end of the year or during mid-year rankings.  There are several reasons why this album is worth buying and become part of your collection.

First, the song arrangement from the first song up to the last song is well thought of.  You have none of those rollercoaster emotion that you will feel while listening to this record.  This is probably due to the reason that the musical structure is quite cohesive. Each track feels like a continuation of the previous song.  One can conclude that probably this album is inspired with Madonna’s “Confession on the Dancefloor” minus the Stuart Price trick of seamless connection in between songs.  Just the same, listeners will dance and sway to many of the reggae and ska inspired songs in here.

Second, majority of the songs have really huge pop appeal. You are not afraid to brag some of the tracks that you are fond of listening to as the songs will appeal to different types of demographics.  This could be attributed that Gwen has no pretensions of releaseing “pop art” or “art pop” album.  Thus, the whole album works very well for her.

Third, no one will simply accuse her of trying to compete in the league with Rihanna, Beyonce, Gaga, or Miley, and other young performers as this album truly cemented her own brand of music.  While some of the songs may sounded like an Arianna or Demi, her vocal performance with most of the pop songs in this album are more sincere and passionate than those did by the likes of Selena and other young pop stars.

Fourth, this album is a sexy album. You can use many of the tracks in here to flirt, tease and seduce your romantic partner.

Final verdict is that this is a great album and it deserves a 4 star rating.
