~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hairless Toys album is the kind of record that you will not give serious consideration unless you are prodded to do so.  First, Roisin Murphy is not so mainstream thus, her record won’t definitely find its way to millions of listeners.  Second, her songs will definitely earned its way through word of mouth.   Third, her music is not so radio friendly thus you will not hear it on the radio.
Once you listen to this album, you get a feeling that you already heard this style of music.  Yes, the approach was very eighties and new wave.  The kind of 80’s music that prevailed in Europe and later on crossover the Atlantic and played in the Americas.  Some of the hooks in this record were similar to what New Order, Depeche Mode, and Camouflage did during their heydays.
Good tracks to listen in here are “Gone Fishing,” Uninvited Guest,” “Exile,” “House of Glass,” and “Unputdownable.” It is quite surprising that some of the songs in here have some jazz vibe instead of being dance tune considering that the album genre is EDM.  In this regard, this album deserves a 3.5 star rating.
Ratings Description:
