ALBUM REVIEW : THESE ARE THE DAYS
ARTIST : GINO VANNELLI
GENRE : POP
DATE OF RELEASED : 2006
If your exposure with Gino Vannelli is limited to “Black Cars, I Just Wanna Stop, and Hurts To Be In Love,” then you must be having problems accessing with his own brand of music. Many music listeners are not aware that he is indeed an accomplished singer and surprised critics that he can even dabble with opera.
In this record, Gino Vannelli showed that he is more than just a good face. He showed that he is a man of many talents. He showed in this album that he is quite adept with jazz music and that he doesn’t need auto tune or synthesizers to hide the ineptness of his voice. He has an excellent voice and it showed in songs like “These Are The Days”, “It’s Only Love”, and “Rock Me To Heaven.” He can even do gospel as attested in the song “Great Divide.”
This is a nice record to begin with if you want to discover who Gino Vannelli is as a musical artist. I rate this record 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.
1 star = Ignore it
2 stars= risk it
3 stars = borrow or buy it
4 stars = buy it and keep it
5 = buy, keep, and treasure it
