SHE SITS, THINKS, AND DELIVERS THE GOODS

ALBUM REVIEW           :        SOMETIMES I SIT AND THINK AND

SOMETIMES I JUST SIT

ARTIST                         :        COURTNEY BARNETT

GENRE                           :        ROCK

DATE OF RELEASED    :        2015

It has been a long time since a female rock singer has charmed listeners the way Alanis Morissette did during the 90’s.  Don’t you miss that period?  In this record, Courtney Barnett is courting listeners to try her own brand of music.  As you can see, todays female singer are either Madonna morph or R and B slut.  There is a dearth of female rock singer who can fill in the shoes Deborah Harry left behind.

In this record, Courtney tried to show her best rock talent by singing songs that sounds like The Breeders, The Vamps, The Go Gos, and among others.  She rocks, she raps, sings, she screams, she narrates, she yells.  She even did country and sixties rolled into one with “Small Poppies.”  She even sounded like the female lead vocal of The Beautiful South in the song “Depreston.” She even managed to be as vibrant like a Spice Girl in the song “Aqua Profundi.”

The girl has many talents and it won’t come as a surprise if this record will find its way among millions of listeners out there.  This is a good record to start with for Ms. Barnett.  I rate this album 3 stars out of 5 stars.

Ratings Description:

2 stars= risk it
