THE HAWK’S EYES HAVE IT

ALBUM REVIEW            :       EVERYTHING IS FINE

ARTIST                           :       HAWK EYES

GENRE                            :       ROCK

DATE OF RELEASED      :       2015

One thing that you can say after listening to the first song in this album “The Trap,” is that you will be curious what would the succeeding songs sound like.  You will find that the opening song is not annoying as a rock song; not noisy but surprisingly melodious.  However, the second song broke some expectations as the band sounds like Red Hot Chili Peppers.

“Die Trying” have a very promising song introduction.  Fortunately, the momentum was not broken in the entire song.  While it may sound like any Danzig song, still there is an element of innocence that you can feel in the song.  “Permission” has “Walk Like An Egyptian” by the Bangle sound introduction.  The band tries to be metal in approach but they sound like The Jonas Brothers doing metal rock.  “The Ballad of Michael McGlue” is what happens when you merge rock, grunge, and metal all in one song; very confusing song that sounds teenage rock yet very adult in vocal delivery.

In “More Than A Million” you will realize that the band had guitar talents after all.  The guitar riff in this song reminded me of what Slash did in Michael Jacksons “Black and White.”  “Terribly Quelled” on the other hand had the best line in the entire record “happiness is a risky business.”  “Night Music” is the best song in this record.

The whole album vibe of the album is really energetic.  With that I rate this record 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.

Ratings Description:

1 star = Ignore it

2 stars= risk it

3 stars = borrow or buy it

4 stars = buy it and keep it

5 = buy, keep, and treasure it
