ALBUM REVIEW : FAST AND FURIOUS 7: ORIGINAL MOTION
ARTIST : VARIOUS ORIGINAL ARTISTS
GENRE : SOUNDTRACK
DATE OF RELEASED : 2015
One of the problems most motion picture soundtracks have is that it is not well thought. It seems that the record producer just want to comply with the requirements that in order to produce blockbuster movies, you need radio friendly and hit producing soundtracks. The first song in this compilation is just fine considering that it involves several current rap and hip hop artists contributing their talents.
It started with rap and hip hop and since this is a compilation, there is EDM music for you with Sevyn Streeter’s “How Bad Do You Want It,” DJ Snake and Dillon Francis’s “Get Low,” and David Guetta and Kaz James’s “Blast Off.” There are also combined music genres like EDM, Hip Hop, and Rap with “Go Hard or Go Home” contributed by Wiz Kalifa and Iggy Azalea, “The Playback” which is contributed by Juicy J, Kevin Gates, Future Sage The Gemini, and DJ Shadow and Moss contributing “Six Days.
Outstanding tracks in this soundtrack includes “My Angel” by Prince Royce, “ the Latin infused “Meneo” by Fito Blanko, the testosterone laden “I Will Return” by Skylar Grey, and the reggae beat “Ay Vamos” by J Balvin featuring French Montana and Nicky Jam. This record is without a doubt one of the most cohesive soundtrack in the Fast and Furious Soundtrack series ever. All tracks almost hold each other together and complement each other. There are no tracks that will make you say “duh, what is this song doing in here?”
With that, I rate this movie soundtrack 3.5 out of 5 stars.
1 star = Ignore it
2 stars= risk it
3 stars = borrow or buy it
4 stars = buy it and keep it
5 = buy, keep, and treasure it
