UNEXPECTEDLY A HAPPY ALBUM FROM JOHN MAYER

ALBUM REVIEW   :       PARADISE VALLEY

ARTIST                   :       JOHN MAYER

GENRE                    :       COUNTRY / FOLK/ ROCK

DATE RELEASED   :       2013

This is totally an unpretentious album when you compared it with his previous efforts.  The simplicity of this record is that that you do not find any other kind of emotions with him except of course that he is quite happy in most of the songs.  In fact, this album is probably one of the most relaxing to listen to.  You get this kind of feeling the moment you hear the first few bars of “Wildfire” and you eagerly wait for the next song.

This is not an old school record for everyone but rather a break from monotony in terms of music.  In his previous albums, you have a little bit of country and a little bit of rock and roll and pop.  In this record, while there are still those kind of songs basically, the whole album is structured along country music genre.

Indeed, this album is not difficult to listen to over and over again.  I rate this record 4 stars out of 5 stars.

Ratings Description:

1 star = Ignore it

2 stars= risk it

3 stars = borrow or buy it

4 stars = buy it and keep it

5 = buy, keep, and treasure it
