Album Review : SUN

Artist                                     :               THOMAS BERGERSEN

Genre                                   :               INSTRUMENTAL

Date of Released             :               2014

It is quite rare to listen to an instrumental album that is not boring.  This album has lots of music that are suited to movie soundtracks.  The first musical strain of “Before Time” will already transport you to another place and your mind starts guessing what movie that you first heard similar musical strain.  Thus, you become excited to hear immediately succeeding songs.

“Creation of the Earth” has elegant musical structure that you can really imagine atoms and molecules gathering together to actualize the Big Bang Theory of Earth’s creation.  The humming element in “Sun” complemented the bass and symphony elements of the song.  “Cry” is an appropriate title of a music that makes you imagine at first dramatic moments of some films that you saw and then the mood changes that will make your heart gripped with excitement or loneliness.

“Our Destiny” might be an attempt of this composer to go along the likes of Bach and Schumann and the music might not rank along the works of these two masters, at least, the music is quite a pleasure to listen to.  “Two Hearts” might the most pop music in this album.  “Dragonland” makes you imagine “Harry Potter” and other fantasy movies while listening to the whole music.  “Colors of Love” is like a soundtrack from The Lion King.

Those are the good songs in this album.  Not bad at all considering that this record has a total of 16 songs.  Thus, you will be thankful that your player has a forward button or that the latest technology has afforded listeners to carefully download only the songs that they like.   I rate this record 3 stars out 5 stars.

Ratings Description:
